Tony Nehmi, who owns Wine & Spirits, said he saw panic on the faces of girls in the window of Pro Arts Academy Dance Studio on the second floor of the River Road building, NJ.com reports.
Without hesitation, he and Sgt. James Dalton grabbed a ladder and climbed up to the window, smashing it to free two girls as others jumped from a fire escape.
“We couldn’t do it quick enough,” Dalton told CBS2. “Once we got them out they told us they were the last two people in there. Big sigh of relief.”
